About This MCP Connection
Teams can configure Gong as both an MCP client (pulling external context into your revenue workflows in Gong) and an MCP server (enabling Gong's revenue-specific agents to work with every other AI agent in your stack) to leverage AI-powered insights from account and deal activity.
By connecting Gong to ChatGPT’s MCP client, teams can bring trusted Gong insights into the tools where they already work by helping them answer questions about accounts and deals, generate structured briefs, and act on revenue context without manually searching or copy-pasting information.

Available Tools
The Gong MCP Server exposes three read-only tools:
- ask_account: Answers natural-language questions about a single account.
- ask_deal: Answers natural-language questions about a single deal.
- generate_brief: Generates a structured, multi-category brief for an account or deal, including insights such as key themes, stakeholders, risks, and next steps.
Each tool analyzes calls and emails within a defined time range and returns AI-generated insights.

Connect
Create an app in Gong
- In Gong, go to Company Settings > Ecosystem > API > Integrations and click Create Integration > MCP.
- Select the appropriate access type. For ChatGPT, Personal Access is recommended so each user authorizes with their own Gong credentials.
- ChatGPT dynamically allocate a redirect URI during the MCP (App) setup flow. Use this redirect URI when creating the integration on Gong.
- Save the integration. Gong returns a Client ID and Client Secret. Copy both and add them to the ChatGPT MCP App setup page.
Connect Gong in ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, create a new custom MCP app/connector.
