No. Raw transcripts are processed entirely in-memory and are never persisted. Before any analysis, all personally identifiable information (names, emails, phone numbers, company names, financial amounts) is anonymized. Only the extracted topic summaries and anonymized sample quotes are stored.

Focala uses Gong's standard OAuth 2.0 flow. When you connect, you'll be redirected to Gong to authorize access. Focala requests only the minimum read-only scopes needed: calls (basic, extensive, and transcript) and workspaces. Access tokens are automatically refreshed and securely stored. You can revoke access at any time by disconnecting from Focala's settings page or from your Gong admin panel, this immediately invalidates the stored credentials. Focala never has write access to your Gong data.
Yes. After connecting, you'll be prompted to select which workspaces Focala should pull calls from. You can update this selection at any time.
All transcripts are anonymized before analysis. Participant names are replaced with role-based labels (e.g., "Rep", "Prospect"), emails/phones/amounts are redacted, and company names are masked.

Requirements

Authenticating User Requirements

To set up the integration, the initial connecting user must be a Gong Tech Admin and hold Admin permissions in Focala. This allows Focala to securely access call data and apply the correct scopes and settings for your organization.

Focala Subscription

Your organization needs an active Focala subscription to enable the Gong integration. Once enabled, Focala will continuously sync and analyze eligible Gong calls to surface insights and content opportunities in your workspace.

Connect


  1. In Focala, open the Settings area and navigate to the Integrations tab.
  2. Find the Gong integration card and click Connect.
  3. Click Connect with Gong to be securely redirected to Gong’s authorization screen.
  4. Sign in to Gong with an account that has the required admin permissions and review the requested scopes.
  5. Click Allow to grant Focala access. You’ll be redirected back to Focala’s Gong Integration Settings page, where the status will indicate that the connection is active and ready to use.
