## Enrich Gong Agents
Give Gong AI Briefer the context your CRM and call notes cannot: what is happening outside the account.

Parallel searches the public web for timely, source-backed information about a company, its leadership, products, market, competitors, and recent developments. Gong can bring that research into account briefs so reps walk into conversations knowing what changed, why it matters, and where the information came from.

Instead of relying on stale company profiles or generic summaries, your team gets current research grounded in public sources they can check. The connection is read-only and is currently supported in Gong AI Briefer.

## Available Tools
web_search
Search the public web with natural-language questions. Find company news, funding announcements, leadership changes, product launches, hiring trends, partnerships, market developments, and competitive context.

web_fetch
Read a specific public webpage when you need more detail from a company website, press release, product announcement, blog post, or another linked source.

Both tools are read-only. Gong invokes them from AI Briefer when the brief calls for outside research.

## What You Can Do with this MCP Connection
Get up to speed on an account before a first meeting, renewal conversation, or executive check-in.

Understand what the company sells, who its customers are, and how it talks about its priorities.

Spot funding rounds, leadership changes, product launches, acquisitions, hiring, and expansion plans worth bringing up.

See how a company compares with competitors and where its positioning may be changing.

Turn recent developments into better discovery questions, more relevant outreach, and stronger account plans.

Check important claims against current public sources and keep the supporting links close at hand.

## Example Prompts
Bring me up to speed on this company. What do they sell, who do they sell to, and what should I know before our first call?

What has changed at this company in the last 90 days? Focus on funding, leadership moves, product launches, hiring, and anything else worth bringing up.

I'm meeting their VP of Sales tomorrow. What does the business seem to care about right now, and what are three good questions I should ask?

Look at their recent announcements and open roles. What do those tell us about where the company is headed?

Who are their closest competitors, and how does this company explain what makes it different?

Find any recent acquisitions, partnerships, or expansion plans that could change how we approach this account.

Give me a quick account brief I can read in two minutes. Highlight the most important recent developments and include links to the sources.

Is there anything in the news that makes this a particularly good time to reach out? Tell me what happened and why it might matter to our conversation.

Check the company's website against recent press coverage. Flag anything that looks inconsistent, outdated, or worth verifying before we talk to them.

## FAQ
### What does Parallel add to Gong AI Briefer?
A current view of what is happening outside the account. Parallel can search the public web for company news, funding, product launches, leadership changes, hiring, competitors, and other relevant context, then bring source-linked findings into an account brief.

### Which Gong features work with this integration?
The Parallel MCP connection is currently supported in Gong AI Briefer and Account Briefer workflows. Gong can invoke the connected web_search and web_fetch tools from an Account-scoped brief. Other Gong surfaces should not be assumed to support external MCP connections.

### Can Parallel change anything in Gong or my CRM?
No. Both MCP tools are read-only. web_search searches public websites, and web_fetch retrieves public webpages. The integration does not create or update Gong records, CRM records, or customer data.

### How do I connect the Parallel MCP server?
In Gong Admin center, create an MCP connection using https://search.parallel.ai/mcp-oauth, complete OAuth authorization, enable web_search and web_fetch, and add the connection to an AI Briefer section. Dynamic client registration is supported. Setup guide: https://docs.parallel.ai/integrations/mcp/search-mcp

### Can I see where the information came from?
Yes. Parallel returns public-web results with source links so reps can trace important claims back to the original material. Ask the brief to include its sources when you want to quickly verify company news, market developments, or other account research.

## Requirements
- **Gong AI Briefer and authorized Parallel access** — A Gong environment with AI Briefer or Account Briefer and MCP connections enabled, plus authorization to use Parallel Search MCP. Feature availability and any usage or credit terms depend on your Gong and Parallel plans.
- **Gong admin access and Parallel OAuth authorization** — A Gong admin must configure the MCP connection, complete OAuth authorization for https://search.parallel.ai/mcp-oauth, and enable web_search and web_fetch. An Account-scoped brief needs an account to test against.

## Connect
1. In Gong, open Admin center and create or configure an MCP connection.
2. Set the MCP server URL to https://search.parallel.ai/mcp-oauth.
3. Complete the OAuth sign-in flow. Dynamic client registration is supported.
4. Enable both read-only tools: web_search and web_fetch.
5. Add the connection to an Account-scoped Gong AI Briefer section, choose an account, and run a test.

The connection requires access to Gong AI Briefer and authorization through Parallel. Results are drawn from publicly available websites. Setup documentation: https://docs.parallel.ai/integrations/mcp/search-mcp
